The First Ufa International Education Fair Hosted in Ufa

The first Ufa International Education Fair titled “Education of the Future” took place at the VDNH-EXPO Exhibition Center in Ufa on October 23-26, 2017. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and the Moscow International Education Fair. The list of co-organizers included the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection, and Family of the Republic of Bashkortostan. UIEF 2017 Education of the Future has become the first regular regional project supported by the Moscow International Education Fair that shared same preparation and execution technologies. The Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan supported the event.

The Fair’s program consisted of more than 60 events involving 500 speakers. In three days, more than 4000 people have visited the exhibition center, and many attended the Fair more than once. 100 exhibitors presented their educational technologies and solutions.

The UIEF served as a large-scale map of the educational market, and offered individual navigation for every participant. The best practices, solutions, products, and services provided by educational and business communities were presented both at the forum and the exhibition. Within a three-day program of the UIEF 2017, the participants had had a chance to share professional experience, as well as to find partners and investors to execute promising educational projects, and to get familiar with the best training and mentoring technologies.

Veniamin Kaganov, adviser of Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets, and Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Moscow International Education Fair, visited the event. He had a look at the UIEF-2017 Education of the Future exhibition, and took part in the discussion titled “Technology of Special Sessions Organization at Recreational Institutions.”

The UIEF 2017 saw the signing of industry-significant agreements between the key members of the education sector. The Ufa State University of Petroleum Technologies singed cooperation agreements with venture companies Phystech Ventures and North Energy Ventures that consistently invest in Russian breakthrough oil-and-gas technologies. The parties are planning to make concerted efforts to develop the regional innovations. As part of the collaboration, an international strartup accelerator will be launched at Ufa State University of Petroleum Technologies.

The signing of partnership and cooperation agreement between the MIEF Board of Directors and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Bashkortostan has become one of the key events of the Fair. Head of promotion for OIG DROFA – VENTANA-GRAF Andrey Baranov and President of the Institute of Education Development of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ramil Mazitov have signed an agreement on cooperation in implementing supplementary professional programs.

The UIEF Program was classified with due consideration to the interests of professional communities, i.e. educators and psychologists, leaders of educational organizations, facilitators, parents, and business representatives. The Program covered a wide range of issues related to present-day school practices, as well as to preschool education. The experts discussed implementation of “Pedagog” (“Educator”) professional standard, organization of project work in engineering and technologies, guidance of gifted children in the educational process, and development of e-learning and digital environment in day-care centers and schools.

The events of Vocational Secondary Education Cluster were dedicated to the specifics of the “Worldskills Russia” demonstration exam implementation, and the inclusion of orphaned children into professional educational environment. The experts also discussed Altyn Kuldar Industrial School Project aimed to provide coordination and develop continuous technical education for workers and engineers.

The experts of the Higher Education Cluster discussed the idea of universities as development centers for the regional innovations. The UIEF also saw the meeting of the Coordinating Council for Agricultural Education; the list of participants included representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan, as well as leaders of vocation-related educational organizations.

The Supplementary Education issues were thoughtfully discussed during the Fair, through a dialogue between resource centers and the representatives of local municipalities that coordinate supplementary education sector’s work. The UIEF participants discussed the issues of governmental regulation, the development of CAS activities, etc. The Fair also saw the discussion of the top priority project of the Russian Government, titled “Affordable Supplementary Education for Children.”

Inclusive education became the cross-cutting issue of the Fair. Educators, psychologists, leaders of educational organizations, and experts of remedial institutions and services discussed effective practices of learning, socializing, rehabilitation, and employment assistance for children, teenagers, and youth with limited health capacities.

On October 26, 2017, the Republic’s festival of popular professions “ProfFEST” took place at the exhibition center. This event had an industry-based organization, with each ministry and department presenting there own specializations. The guests of the Festival have had a chance to familiarize themselves with the simulators of 50 different professions.
