MIEF-2019 officially launched!

Today, on the10th of April, the Moscow International Education Fair 2019 has been officially launched in VDNH Pavilion 75. The global forum is held for the sixth time. In the period between 10 and 13 April, the MIEF is going to welcome over 50,000 unique visitors, including representatives of the professional and expert communities, government and public institutions as well as numerous business entities.
The opening ceremony was marked by the words of welcome on the part of Deputy Chair of the RF Government Tatiana Golikova, RF Minister of Science and Higher Education Mikhail Kotyukov and RF Minister of Education Olga Vasilieva.
“On behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation and the MIEF Organizing Committee, let me bid you warm welcome at the launching of our Education Fair, which has already become traditional. It unites on its ground representatives of government bodies, members of professional and expert communities, teachers from various regions of Russia and different countries of the world. It is already for the third time in a row that the MIEF is held under the auspices of UNESCO and I would like to extend my gratitude to UNESCO for such a high status,” said Deputy Chair of the RF Government Tatiana Golikova.
Speaking at the opening of the Moscow International Education Fair, Minister of Science and Higher Education Mikhail Kotyukov noted that science and education were the main tools for achieving the national goals set by the RF President in his May Decrees. “Last year President of the Russian Federation adopted the strategic goals and tasks to be attained by Russia. The government, in identifying the main fields of its work, has emphasized that science and education are the main tools for achieving those goals and solving those vital tasks,” noted the Minister.
“Today, the Ministry has under its jurisdiction the pre-school, secondary, vocational secondary, and supplementary education of our children. Every day, 15 million pupils, 5 million undergraduates and 3 million college students come to their classrooms, as do 7 million of our youngest citizens. All the grounds we are going to see and visit today are dedicated to them. It is not only up-to-date technical equipment that will be presented here. The most important things that are going to happen in the course of the entire upcoming week at the Fair are various conferences, master classes, talks with prominent experts, teachers,” noted Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Olga Vasilieva.
Discussion panels will be the gravitation centers of the integrated themed exhibitions. Over 24 000 m2 will accommodate Russian, foreign and international educational organizations, manufacturers of educational and process equipment and software showcasing their newest learning aids. It will be the largest education exhibition in the Russian Federation.
